The Scheduler is a senior level position responsible for overseeing various commodities and identifying potential physical trading opportunities, in coordination with the Trading team. The overall objective of this role is to manage physical positions and movements, and coordinate with various stakeholders on the trading floor.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage physical metal positions and movements, and optimize flows to save costs by determining how conditions affect a given market
  • Solve issues throughout the deal life cycle by leveraging external and internal relationships
  • Coordinate on new products, structure transactions, trading book purchases, adhoc projects and regulatory compliance
  • Ensure correct processing of trades and bank risk compliance in daily activities and work on audit queries, perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations
  • Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure
  • Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics
  • Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions; demonstrating proper consideration for the firm’s reputation.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures as defined by your role which will be communicated to you
  • Obtain and maintain all registrations/licenses which are required for your role, within the appropriate timeframe
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a related role, Logistical/Physical experience in base metals (LME/CME/others), experience in US metals logistics a bonus
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities/deadlines with accuracy
  • Effective and efficient quantitative skills and advanced problem solving skills
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Proven ability to thrive in a high stress, fast paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize tasks requiring immediate attention over others

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
