Institutional Credit Management (“ICM”) was established within Citigroup with the objective to provide integrated “end-to-end” credit underwriting, identification, measurement, management and monitoring for wholesale credit businesses across the enterprise.

Credit Product Strategy & Operations (CPSO) is ICM function with the mandate to improve the effectiveness of the operating model and policies across wholesale lending and to ensure the closure of regulatory remediations and internal credit-related issues.

The SVP Position will prioritize efforts related to our product strategy and processes with a focus on those having material impacts across In-Business Credit Risk (IBCR) verticals. This role requires subject matter expertise of wholesale credit and a broad understanding of the WCR policy, systems, processes and controls, quality assurance, and practices relevant to wholesale lending.

The role requires close liaison with various other business areas and functions including wider ICM teams, first and second line teams, Business Managers, Control teams, as well as partner areas such as Product and Technology.

The Prod Strat & Plan Sr Specialist is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Typically a small number of people within the business that provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • The Product Strategy & Planning Senior Specialist manages strategic partners across a variety of responsibilities including strategy, ongoing management and operational improvements

  • Directs, designs and implements initiatives leading the end- to- end planning and execution

  • Process and Policy improvements to drive efficiencies and excellence in client execution

  • Directing technology requirements to compel stronger and more reliable client outcomes and data improvements

  • Owning or contributing to Regulatory Remediations and Internal Issues closures with a focus on sustainable and efficient solutions that best serve clients while sustaining safety and soundness

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships across functional, business, and product teams

  • Manages activities that require some forward looking vision and analysis and typically thinks beyond the existing solutions, assumptions or current knowledge of sophisticated areas that ultimately affect the business/geographic region or a major segment of it

  • Develops short to medium-term plans and executes functional strategies for a large/complex country, cluster of countries, or business requiring coordination and integration across units and provides input into strategic decisions affecting Product Strategy & Planning within a region or business

  • Acts as mentor to new and less experienced colleagues

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience

  • Knowledge of financial services industry

  • Strategic mindset that closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business

  • Experience with partnership management, business development, and strategic planning

  • Complex judgments and solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives

  • In-depth analysis with interpretive thinking will be required

  • Applies ingenuity and creativity to problem analysis and resolution for complicated and/or unique situations

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels

  • Demonstrated ability to develop materials including presentations for senior leadership

  • Extremely high level of attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability to interact and work with senior leaders across the organization

  • Excellent organization skills, with the ability to work under pressure and prioritize within tight deadlines

  • Ability to work as part of a team, with a high degree of collaboration with cross functional teams

  • Ability to influence broadly and think outside the box

  • An influencer who communicates clearly and frequently to both technical analysts and non-technical business leaders

  • Required Licensing/Registration: Series 7


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting or relevant experience, Master’s degree preferred
