The Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements, including using script tools and analyzing/interpreting code
- Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, and recommend programming solutions, install, and support customer exposure systems
- Apply fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications.
- Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, as well as conduct testing and debugging
- Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
- Identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgements to recommend and implement solutions
- Resolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions through the applications of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents
- Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
- Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
- Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Key responsibilities:
- Select and develop appropriate test automation tools, applying the latest techniques in test automation; e.g., data-driven testing. Should be creative and proactive thinker to make use of current technologies to provide extensible automation infrastructures.
- Use risk-driven techniques to develop, maintain, and execute automated test suites. Prepare reusable functions, which improve the robustness, re-usability, and maintainability of the test scripts.
- In charge of the stream E2E test scope, drive automation, test plan, test execution, test reports.
- Drive defect management for his/her stream, conducting RCA and regular Escape analysis to continuously improve the test approach. Feedback to the QA practice on identified improvement areas
- Manage stream testing process using project management methodologies, tools and procedures.
- Be accountable for the resulting quality of the products or components
- Ensure proper version control and configuration management of all test objects developed and test environments used.
Qualifications:
- Should have 6-10 total test experience with 5-8 years of relevant automation experience
- Expertise in Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) for test automation, with practical experience across data-driven, keyword-driven, and hybrid automation framework implementations.
- Experience API automation would be added advantage
- Hands-on working experience in regression test suite design and maintenance, able to analyze manual test cases, specs and requirements
- Good understanding of Testing Life Cycle and latest Test methodologies and processes.
- Thorough Knowledge of automation tool Selenium
- Quick Learner Ability to learn new technology, tools and best practices in solution areas
- Should be good at problem solving and debugging with excellent analytical skills
- Good in verbal & written communication
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
