Join Citi’s dynamic team as a Client Manager within the Citi Global Subsidiaries Group (GSG). The GSG is dedicated to managing relationships with the local subsidiaries of Citi’s multinational corporate clients, providing unparalleled support and strategic guidance.

This role plays a critical part in enhancing the client experience. As a Client Manager, you will be a subject matter expert in navigating the intricate internal workings of Citi’s operations, collaborating seamlessly with client service teams, credit administration, internal business controls, and various product partners. You will maintain and cultivate existing client relationships, prioritizing cross-sell opportunities across Citi’s product spectrum.

Your responsibilities will extend to collaborating with key stakeholders to drive deals from inception through successful implementation, ensuring a swift ramp-up of revenue, robust product adoption, and a strong digital agenda for our clients.

Your proactive communication with key decision-makers within client organizations and internal Citi teams will be instrumental in ensuring client satisfaction and the sustained retention of business.

The position is located in Bucharest and provides great opportunity to use the interpersonal skills and business acumen to work with regional & local teams in an inspiring multinational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Forge Deep Client Partnerships: Proactive engagement with key clients to understand evolving needs, anticipate challenges, and deliver tailored solutions that foster long-term, mutually beneficial relationships. This involves acting as a trusted advisor, leveraging extensive internal resources to exceed client expectations.

  • Drive Strategic Revenue Growth: Contribution to the Global Subsidiaries Group strategy through active support for the acquisition and expansion of client relationships, achieving revenue growth in full compliance with established risk and control standards.

  • Innovate and Collaborate: Close collaboration with Senior Bankers, product specialists, and experts across the bank to design and implement bespoke financial solutions addressing complex client challenges.

  • Champion Operational Excellence: Ownership of critical Know Your Client (KYC) processes, ensuring timely initiation, thorough monitoring, and diligent renewals, thereby upholding commitment to regulatory compliance and ethical standards across all product and market levels.

  • Act as a Central Client Advocate: Serving as the primary liaison for all client support and documentation needs, ensuring seamless communication and an outstanding client experience.

  • Maintain Integrity: All activities are conducted to the highest ethical standards, reflecting core values and commitment to responsible banking.

  • Ensure Rapid Resolution: Swift resolution of client inquiries and challenges, expertly coordinating with internal teams to provide timely and effective solutions.


Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2-3 years of demonstrated experience in a client-facing role, with a proven record in relationship management or client servicing, preferably within the financial services sector.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree, preferably in Economics or a related field.

  • Client Focus & Results Orientation: A genuine passion for understanding and serving client needs, coupled with a strong drive to achieve and exceed business objectives.

  • Meticulous Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks and client interactions.

  • Effective Communication: The ability to articulate complex information clearly, concisely, and persuasively, both verbally and in writing, fostering strong internal and external relationships.

  • English Proficiency: Fluency in English is required to enable seamless communication and relationship building within a diverse client base.
