Position summary
The Head of SWFs and Central Banks is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the strategy, revenue growth, client engagement and external market positioning for the segment globally. This individual will lead a global team of sales and client executive professionals and be directly accountable for delivering commercial outcomes aligned with the company’s broader strategic objectives. The role will own C-suite relationships, be seen a trusted client partner and deliver positive outcomes for our most important clients.
The Head of SWFs and Central Banks will play a critical role in defining go-to-market plans, identifying growth opportunities within the segment, and ensuring the successful execution of complex, multi-jurisdictional deals. This role requires deep market insight, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and a proven ability to influence, including regular interaction with the C-suite of both clients and internal executive leadership.
The role also works in close partnership with FI Sales Head, Issuer Services, Banking and Markets to drive One Citi / pan-Services client solutions.
The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and inspirational leader who brings a strong track record of sales success and managed a world class sales process. This individual will have direct experience of winning new mandates in this segment and owning the most senior client relationships. This is a high-impact, highly visible role that will shape the trajectory of the company’s Asset Owner segment, requiring both strategic vision and operational excellence.
Revenue and expense outcomes
- Drive global sales performance across the segment to meet and exceed strategic revenue and growth targets
- Create, develop and maintain an active pipeline of relevant opportunities which fit our global strategy
- Represent the priorities and performance to leadership, demonstrating progress against strategic goals
- Design and execute relevant and targeted sales campaigns and drive thought leadership content across the segment both internal and external
- Lead, manage, and inspire a high-performing team of salespersons and client executives across multiple regions, ensuring a consistent, client-centric approach
Client relationship
- Cultivate and deepen relationships with key clients in the segment
- Champion client-focused initiatives that enhance our product and service offering, client experience and reinforce value propositions both internally and externally
Collaboration and cross sell
- Partner with the boarder Client, Banking, Markets organisation across Citi to identify winning clients and clients where Citi can win
- Work closely with partners across Services to cross sell, provide market feedback and be direct product enhancement/development and service model design
- Drive new business mandates by working effectively with all senior stakeholders including Product, Data, Operations and Technology partners
Thought leadership and solution design
- Lead the external market positioning of Investor Services for this segment across all stakeholders working with our Marketing and Content teams
- Monitor market trends, regulatory developments and competitive dynamics to adjust strategies and maintain market leadership
- Collaborate with teams to align this segment requirements and needs with internal initiatives and product offerings
Qualifications
- Education: Undergraduate Degree, MBA preferred
- 15+ years of senior sales leadership experience within the financial services industry, managing multi-country teams.
- Proven ability to design and execute strategic plans and achieve financial targets.
- Deep understanding of Services products, services and the competitive landscape.
- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage risk and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
