The Communications and Engagement Manager (Business Unit Manager - C14) is a senior-level position responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive communication and engagement strategy within the organization. This role will oversee all central communications, including the creation and distribution of newsletters, organizational announcements, and the coordination of town hall meetings and various team engagement initiatives. The manager will play a critical role in fostering a connected, informed, and engaged workforce through strategic internal communication and community-building efforts.
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and manage a robust internal communication strategy, ensuring consistent messaging and brand alignment across all internal platforms.
Oversee the end-to-end production of internal newsletters, including content ideation, writing, editing, layout, and scheduling, to keep employees informed and engaged.
Coordinate the drafting, review, and timely dissemination of critical organizational announcements, policy updates, and important business news.
Plan, organize, and execute successful town hall meetings and other large-scale communication events, managing logistics, agenda development, speaker preparation, and technology requirements.
Lead and coordinate various team engagement initiatives, ad-hoc projects, and recognition programs to enhance employee morale, foster collaboration, and build a strong organizational culture.
Collaborate closely with leadership and internal teams to align communication efforts with business objectives, people strategies, and departmental communication needs.
Continuously drive administrative, operational, and quality improvements within communication processes and engagement activities.
Ensure all internal communications are clear, concise, compelling, and adhere to the organization's tone and style guidelines.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in financial services or experience in internal communications, corporate communications, public relations, or a related engagement role, preferably within a large, complex organization
Experience working in global and complex settings with multiple stakeholders
Knowledge of the financial services industry and technology, including Data Governance
Proven ability to work in a team of diverse skill sets and cultures.
Proven ability to work in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to craft clear, concise, and impactful messages, are required
Education:
Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Master's degree preferred
