Team/Role Overview

The Asset Servicing Group Manager is a pivotal leadership role, overseeing a Corporate Action team responsible for the timely and accurate processing of corporate action events, and must be a strategic thinker who can demonstrate exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a proven ability to deliver on operational strategy, show a proactive attitude in risk management, and utilize key performance indicators/key risk indicators to drive success. The role has extensive responsibilities in the functional area, which involves comprehensive reconciliation, precise transaction processing, and complex issue resolution across critical, high-risk functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and functional oversight for the Corporate Action team, ensuring accurate, efficient, and timely execution of client entitlements and mitigating systemic and operational risks.
  • Manage, mentor and coach the team; provide guidance, mentorship, and strategic direction to individuals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and leadership development.
  • Direct comprehensive reconciliation, processing, and payment facilitation for corporate action events, adhering to evolving global regulatory requirements and internal controls.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses to identify and resolve root causes of systemic operational issues, spearheading the development and implementation of enterprise-wide solutions.
  • Champion robust compliance, instilling unwavering adherence to established procedures and controls, and ensuring continuous organizational education on compliance.
  • Proactively assess and manage business risks, demonstrating an unyielding commitment to regulatory compliance and ethical conduct.
  • Effectively manage and transparently report complex control issues to senior management, providing actionable insights and driving timely remediation.
  • Cultivate and sustain strategic relationships with critical stakeholders, including major clients, internal business units, global product partners, and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in financial services operations, with extensive senior-level experience and deep expertise in Asset Servicing as well as proven experience managing a team.
  • Bachelor’s/University degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related quantitative field is required; a Master's degree (MBA, MS in Finance, etc.) is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated strategic leadership, with a proven ability to manage large, complex functions, drive organizational change, and develop high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Expert-level understanding of cash flows, accounting treatments, operational controls, market practices, and regulatory landscapes within a global context.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of a wide array of investment instruments, including Equity and Fixed Income securities.
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and executive decision-making skills, with a track record of implementing innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Superior communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with fluent spoken and written English, capable of articulating complex information to diverse audiences, including executive leadership and external stakeholders.
