Job Description: The Model/Anlys/Valid Sr Analyst is a seasoned professional role responsible for applying in-depth disciplinary knowledge to enhance processes and workflows within the Global Consumer Banking sector, specifically focusing on model monitoring for Non-Regulatory Decision Models in Banking product (e.g., Credit Cards). This role requires integrating subject matter and industry expertise, evaluating complex issues, and contributing to functional and overall business objectives. The successful candidate will leverage strong analytical and communication skills, assume informal/formal leadership within teams, and contribute to the coaching and training of new recruits.
Core Responsibilities:
- Data Automation & Analysis: Automates data extraction and preprocessing tasks, performs ad hoc data analyses, designs and maintains complex data manipulation processes, and provides comprehensive documentation and presentations.
- Quantitative Analysis: Applies quantitative and qualitative data analysis methods, including SAS programming and Structured Query Language (SQL), to extract, transform, and analyze data.
- Monitoring System Optimization: Optimizes monitoring systems, documents optimization solutions, and presents results effectively to non-technical audiences.
- Model Performance: Understanding of relevant model metrics/KPIs and the ability to identify if any gaps in model monitoring report.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Trains and mentors junior team members on Model Monitoring practices and how to generate actionable insights from various analyses required by the business.
- Risk Assessment & Compliance: Appropriately assesses risk in business decisions, safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets. This involves driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.
Required Skillset:
- Programming: Strong programming skills in languages such as SAS, R, Python, etc.
- Reporting Tools: Proficiency in reporting tools like Tableau.
- Knowledge of Modeling: Understanding of traditional modeling processes (e.g., linear/logistic regression, segmentation, decision tree and machine learning )
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Automation Experience in developing optimal/automated solutions for reporting processes using SAS, Excel VBA, or Tableau .
Experience:
- 7+ years of reporting & analytics experience.
- Experience in risk or marketing reporting, including portfolio reporting, model monitoring, and generating business insights.
- Experience in automating reporting processes.
Education:
- Degree (Bachelor's required or Master's preferred) in Computer Science, Operations Research, Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- MBA candidates should apply only if they are interested in a career in specialized quantitative risk management.
