The Data Analytics Lead Analyst is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analytics Lead with 6-10 years of expertise in data analytics, business intelligence, and reporting. The ideal candidate will lead a team of analysts and developers, design and optimize analytics solutions using Cognos Analytics and Tableau that drive business insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead data analytics initiatives, translating business needs into actionable insights and reporting solutions.
  • Develop metadata model using Framework Manager, create and maintain Data Modules using web-based modeling interface
  • Develop interactive dashboards using the new Cognos dashboarding module for self-service insights.
  • Use AI Assistant / Natural Language Query features to empower non-technical users to explore data
  • Utilize Python, PYSPARK for data analysis, automation, and AI-driven insights
  • Leverage Generative AI for predictive analytics, automation, and business intelligence
  • Design and implement benchmarks to measure the performance of software systems within AI capabilities and make recommendations on technology selection
  • Develop applications that leverage LLMs and FMs
  • Experience with one or multiple areas of AI technology stack including prompt engineering, guardrails, vector databases/knowledge bases, LLM hosting and fine-tuning.
  • Work with Big Data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Databricks) to handle large-scale datasets
  • Implement custom visualizations and R/JavaScript integrations within reports
  • Design advanced Tableau dashboards, leveraging calculated fields, LOD expressions, actions, and parameters.
  • Optimize dashboard performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and offshore/onsite teams to deliver scalable analytics solutions.
  • Provide leadership in data strategy, visualization best practices, and business intelligence initiatives.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis and deep dives into key business performance metrics.
  • Mentor and guide junior analysts in data best practices and reporting methodologies.
  • Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area.
  • Responsible for volume, quality, timeliness, and delivery of data science projects along with short-term planning resource planning.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Required Qualifications

  • 6-10 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data engineering.
  • Strong expertise in Cognos Analytics including Data Modules, Dashboarding, AI Assistant, Explorations, Stories, and Custom Visualizations
  • Experience in Utilizing Python, PYSPARK for data analysis, automation, and AI-driven insights
  • Experience in Leveraging Generative AI for predictive analytics, automation, and business intelligence
  • Design and implement benchmarks to measure the performance of software systems within AI capabilities and make recommendations on technology selection
  • Experience in developing applications that leverage LLMs and FMs
  • String hands-on skills on Tableau desktop and Tableau server/Online
  • String understanding of data warehousing and performance optimization.
  • Experience working with Big Data tools such as Hive, Spark, Hadoop, or Databricks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and experience handling large datasets.
  • Strong SQL skills for complex queries, data transformations, and analytics.
  • Hands on experience and good understanding of column-oriented databases, distributed database management systems and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate data into business insights.
  • Design and implement benchmarks to measure the performance of software systems within AI capabilities and make recommendations on technology selection.
  • Ability to collaborate with onsite/offshore teams and work in a global environment.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, time management and client management skills are critical for this role
  • Comfortable working/leading virtual teams, Agile PM

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Python
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS GCP) and CI/CD practices.
  • Understanding of data security, governance, and compliance best practices.

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years’ experience using codes for statistical modeling of large data sets

Education:

  • Bachelor of Technology/ Major: Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering
