Team/Role Overview:
Cross-border Payments is a key strength and differentiator for Citi, given the significant depth of the branch network and years of operating experience, many of them exceeding 100+ years. The depth of local operations coupled with years of experience dealing with regulators and multiple market participants, FMI and other network partners makes Citi’s Cross-border business market leading and amongst the largest in the industry. It is one of Citi’s Treasury and Trade Service (TTS) most important business lines.
The business operates very closely with the domestic franchise as well as in perfect harmony with Citi’s market leading Foreign Exchange Business. The Cross-border Payments and Receivables business intermediates and processes flows generated by Corporates, Banks, Financial Institutions and Governments.
What you’ll do:
- Senior contributor to the design, product development/enhancements and closing of product gaps involving co-ordination with global partners and in-country product teams across regions.
- Support the evolution of the product offering to provide clients with unique and contextual User Interfaces and payment/ FX execution solutions to enhance client experience and enhance client satisfaction by leading specific product builds and initiatives.
- Support the expansion of Citi’s next generation of Cross-border payments offerings including new feature functionality not just around efficient payment and FX execution but also digitization of client interfaces as well as the backend, strong service and implementation focus and overall enhanced client experience.
- Support delivery of Product P&L (Revenue, Expense, Net Income Plan and Operating Efficiency) for the entirety of the CBFT business
- Engage sales and country partners to win marquee Cross-border Payments mandates to create a recurring stream of new revenues while at the same time protecting and growing the existing significant revenue and client book.
- Analyse product profitability, competition and positioning in the market and proactively drive initiatives to maintain Citi’s leadership position.
- Work collaboratively with the global, regional, and country product teams to drive collective value for clients across the CBFT offering
- Strong Risk and Compliance focus given the complexities of Public/ Private side of the underlying businesses while having a good commercial focus to determine pricing structures in line with level of market risk exposure.
- Support and lead client engagement on key payment deals and key relationships.

- Undergraduate Degree/Third Level Qualification is an advantage.

- Play an important role in the evolution and delivery of a reimagined Citi cross-border offering globally, in partnership with FXLM.
- Develop a strong internal network through interaction with multiple business partners, senior management, and functions globally.
- Managing complexities through a role within a multifaceted product that delivers payments across the globe for multiple client segments.
