Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead for our Reporting & Analytics Centre of Excellence (CoE) at the C14 level. This role will be instrumental in driving the strategy, development, and implementation of cutting-edge reporting and analytics solutions across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of leadership, technical expertise, and business acumen, with a proven track record in building and managing high-performing analytics teams and platforms. This position requires deep expertise in data visualization with Tableau, as well as experience in developing custom web-based analytical applications using Angular for the frontend and Java for the backend.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Reporting & Analytics CoE, aligning with overall business objectives and data strategy.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data analysts, BI developers, and software engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Platform Ownership: Oversee the architecture, development, and maintenance of our core analytics platforms, including Tableau dashboards and custom-built web applications (Angular/Java).
- Solution Delivery: Drive the end-to-end delivery of reporting and analytical solutions, from requirements gathering and design to development, testing, and deployment.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with business leaders and stakeholders across various functions to understand their analytical needs, translate them into technical requirements, and deliver actionable insights.
- Best Practices & Governance: Establish and enforce best practices for data visualization, dashboard design, data governance, and code quality within the CoE.
- Innovation & Technology: Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in data analytics, business intelligence, and software development, evaluating and recommending new tools and approaches to enhance capabilities.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and performance of all reporting and analytical outputs.
- Resource Management: Manage project portfolios, allocate resources effectively, and ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery of projects.
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or software development, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
- Data Visualization: Expert-level proficiency with Tableau, including dashboard design, data source integration, performance optimization, and server administration.
- Web Application Development: Strong experience in developing interactive, data-driven web applications, specifically with:
- Frontend: Expertise in Angular (versions 8+ preferred) and related web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript).
- Backend: Solid proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and building RESTful APIs.
- Database Skills: Strong SQL skills and experience working with various database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Hadoop, Snowflake).
- Data Warehousing: Understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT processes, and data modeling.
- Analytical Thinking: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Leadership: Proven leadership and team-building skills, with experience managing diverse teams.
- Project Management: Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with other BI tools or programming languages (e.g., Python, R).
- Experience in the financial services industry.
