We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as Officer, Securities & Derivatives Analyst - Hybrid (Internal Job Title: Securities & Derivatives Analyst 1 – C09) based in Australia. In this role, you’re expected to:

  • Responsible in assisting CHESS Settlement of equity trades prior to 11:30 on a daily basis in a high volumes environment
  • Liaising with the clients, middle office, trading desk and custodian throughout the morning to accommodate settlement and run necessary reports for awareness of unmatched trades
  • Monitor & process FX trades and cash settlements for the treasury funding process
  • Ownership of control functions and all post execution exception processes
  • Responsibility for monitoring exception reports, reconciliation of daily/monthly dashboard signoffs, to ensure all issues are resolved/addressed in a timely manner.
  • Responsibility for reporting, investigation and follow up of failed trades, reporting metrics and commentary
  • Regulatory reporting requirements to ASX and ASIC for daily report requirements
  • Create manual payments with all necessary documentation whilst adhering to strict internal audit requirements
  • Post journals that represent manual payments with all necessary documentation
  • Liaise with domestic & regional clients, both internal and external for resolution of failed and unmatched trades.
  • Always provide pro-active client service to both internal & external clients and partner with the business and middle office in terms of resolving issues.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with offshore teams such as the Corporate Actions, Middle Office, SBL (Stock Borrow Loan) as well as local teams such as Finance and Treasury
  • Comply with the ethical standards contained in the Citigroup Code of Conduct.
  • Understand ASX and ASIC Market Integrity Rules in conjunction with the settlement process
  • Adhere to firm policies and procedures, regulatory and legislative requirements.
  • Responsible for supporting the business unit to ensure compliance with firm policies and procedures, such as Manual Payments Policy and US Sanctions/Global Interdiction.

As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:

  • BS/BA degree and equivalent work experience
  • Understanding of general business and financial Markets principles.
  • Appreciation and understanding of the key treasury controls such as the importance and impact of unconfirmed trades or outstanding settlement reconciliation items.
  • Strong knowledge of core banking products preferred.
  • Must be able to work in a team with a willingness to learn from others, share knowledge and accept added responsibility as and when required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to recognise problems early and offer suitable solutions for resolution.
  • Identify opportunities for simplification and streamlining of processes
