Role Summary
The Principal Solution Architect will provide overall strategic leadership and architectural direction for the multi-year Citi Strategic Ledger (SL) program. This role will be responsible for defining the target state architecture, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, and driving the successful transformation of Finance Technology across all involved domains. The Principal Solution Architect will lead the team of solution architects, manage executive stakeholder relationships, and steer the program through complex architectural challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Vision & Leadership
- Define and Champion Architecture: Establish and communicate the overarching architectural vision and strategy for the Citi Strategic Ledger (SL) program, aligning with business objectives, Oracle SaaS capabilities, and enterprise-wide architectural standards.
- Program-level Architectural Roadmap: Develop and maintain the multi-year architectural roadmap for the entire Finance Technology transformation, ensuring phased migration from on-premise systems to Oracle SaaS.
- Architectural Governance: Lead architectural review boards, define architectural principles, and enforce governance processes to ensure solutions are robust, scalable, secure, and compliant with Citi's policies and regulatory requirements. This includes overseeing the adoption of a product-aligned Business Unit Authorized Redistributor (BU AR) model.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate critical architectural risks, including those related to data quality, integration complexity, and the deprecation of legacy systems (e.g., FlexCube, FullSuite).
Executive Stakeholder Engagement
- Executive Communication: Present complex architectural concepts and trade-offs to senior leadership (CTO, Heads of Finance, Program Sponsors) and key business stakeholders, translating technical details into strategic implications.
- Cross-functional Alignment: Drive consensus and foster collaboration across diverse technology teams, business units, and external partners (e.g., Oracle) to ensure a unified approach to the transformation.
Technical Oversight & Innovation
- Deep Oracle Expertise: Possess deep expertise in Oracle SaaS for Finance, particularly in General Ledger (GL), Accounting Hub Cloud Service (AHCS), Financial Consolidation and Close Cloud Service (FCCS), and Account Reconciliation Cloud Service (ARCS), guiding the optimal utilization of these modules.
- Data Flow Mastery: Oversee the architecture of complex financial data flows from Front Office systems, through Business Activity Accounting & Reporting (BA AR), to Ledger Balances, and downstream enterprise consumption, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
- Mentorship & Guidance: Provide senior technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to the team of Lead and Senior Solution Architects, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years relevant experience
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Management and prioritization skills
- Ability to develop working relationships
- Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Self-starter with ability to take the initiative and master new tasks quickly
- Methodical, attention to detail
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree and managerial experience

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:
$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
