Citi is looking for a Corporate Banking Associate to join our Swiss Corporate Banking team in Zurich, supporting relationship management and business origination across a diverse portfolio of financial institution, and public sector clients. In this role, you will work alongside senior bankers and product partners to deliver Citi's full suite of banking solutions — from debt and equity capital markets to trade finance, cash management, and derivatives — playing a meaningful part in maintaining Citi's position as a leading international bank in the Swiss market.

Responsibilities

  • Support senior bankers in managing and developing client relationships across the Swiss Corporate Banking portfolio, covering financial institution, and public sector clients.
  • Contribute to origination efforts across Citi's full product range, including debt and equity capital markets, acquisition finance, derivatives, cash management, trade finance, and securities services.
  • Deliver high-quality financial and strategic analysis — including evaluation of financial forecasts, business plans, and market data — to inform client recommendations and business decisions.
  • Produce compelling client presentations and marketing materials that clearly communicate Citi's capabilities and product offerings across global markets.
  • Build and maintain active dialogue with product partners and Citi's international network to coordinate origination activity and ensure seamless client delivery.
  • Monitor and assess credit risk across existing and prospective relationships, applying sound judgement to evaluate counterparty creditworthiness and transaction risk.
  • Stay current with market and industry developments to identify emerging opportunities and provide clients with timely, relevant insight.

Required qualifications & skills

  • 3–6 years of experience in corporate banking, investment banking, or a related corporate finance environment.
  • Broad knowledge of banking products including capital markets, derivatives, financing, cash management, trade finance, and securities services, with an understanding of how these meet client needs.
  • Credit analysis capability, including assessing counterparty creditworthiness and evaluating risk in transactions.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assimilate financial information quickly and translate it into client-relevant insights.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with demonstrated quantitative and financial modelling skills.
  • University degree or equivalent professional experience, with a background in accounting, corporate finance, or a related discipline.

Beneficial skills & qualifications

  • Prior experience at an international bank, with exposure to cross-border client relationships or global markets.
  • Fluency in German or French preferred, complementing the English language requirement for this role.
  • MBA or Master's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Direct client-facing experience in a banking or advisory context.
