Vice President – BEU Team Lead

About the Role

We're seeking a Vice President to join our Business Expense Unit team. Leads global business T&E operations for banking professionals, ensuring policy compliance, cost optimization, and process efficiency. Develops and implements strategic expense management frameworks, drives cost-reduction initiatives, and strengthens internal audit controls. Leverages data analytics and ServiceNow reporting to monitor performance, identify trends, and support informed budget planning and decision-making.

What You'll Do

Team Leadership

  • Lead and inspire a team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability
  • Define team goals, KPIs, and performance objectives aligned with business priorities
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and support career development of team members
  • Manage resource planning, workload distribution, and team capacity
  • Champion diversity and inclusion initiatives within the team
  • Provide guidance and support to local team members; handle senior-level escalations

Stakeholder & Banker Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for senior Bankers, Sponsors, and Business Execution Leads (BELs)
  • Lead performance reviews with preferred partners and contribute to global strategic initiatives
  • Manage vendor partnerships and senior-level business relationships
  • Collaborate across Finance, Compliance, Procurement, and HR

Strategic Leadership & Governance

  • Provide strategic and visionary leadership for the T&E program
  • Champion value creation, operational efficiency, governance, and control
  • Oversee performance analytics; ensure KPIs and SLAs are consistently met
  • Deliver actionable insights and management reporting to optimize travel spend
  • Lead process improvement and change management initiatives

Expense Report Management:

  • Oversee the timely and compliant preparation and review of banker expense reports, ensuring strict adherence to Operating Expense Governance Policy (OEGP).
  • Develop and implement robust controls to identify and flag non-reimbursable expenses and policy violations.
  • Effectively manage escalations, disputes, and exceptions to ensure efficient reimbursement processes and mitigate financial risk.

Expense Pre-Check & Quality Assurance:

  • Lead and optimize the pre-check process for all submitted expense reports, establishing it as a critical quality control layer.
  • Drive continuous improvement in first-time-right submission rates through targeted training programs for EAs and BELs on OEGP policy and Concur submission best practices.
  • Monitor and analyse pre-check metrics to identify trends and implement corrective actions.

Corporate Card Program Oversight:

  • Direct the end-to-end corporate card reconciliation process, including the generation of comprehensive spend summaries and analysis.
  • Implement strategies to assist bankers in achieving timely card settlement, thereby reducing delinquency rates.
  • Establish rigorous monitoring mechanisms for card usage, promptly identifying and addressing anomalous transactions, and fostering strong relationships with banking partners.

Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Operations (EMEA):

  • Manage and optimize the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) cycle, overseeing both PO and non-PO invoice processing specifically within the EMEA region.
  • Serve as the primary Business Area Owner (BAO) for new vendor onboarding initiatives, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
  • Establish proactive measures for timely invoice settlement, including the diligent management of aging reports and strategic escalation of overdue items.

What You'll Bring

Required:

  • 10+ years of experience in travel program management or expense management, with proven leadership in corporate travel roles
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams, driving change, and championing diversity and inclusion
  • Expertise in managing senior-level business relationships and complex vendor partnerships
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, SAP Concur, and leading travel management systems
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership capabilities
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and collaborate across time zones
  • In-depth knowledge of travel technology, policy development, and emerging industry trends
  • Innovative and strategic thinker with a passion for continuous improvement
