Job Description:
The Applications Development Group Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology Team. The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities.
This senior manager and technical lead role is within the global Fixed Income Pricing Technology team and has a dual technical mandate combined with leadership and management of the Warsaw team. The technical mandate is first and foremost to formulate and execute the technical strategy applicable to all Fixed Income pricing services and secondly drive at a deep technical level continuous re-engineering of the Real-Time Rates risk system. The role also includes leadership and management of the Warsaw team such that it becomes the center of excellence for moving the FI Pricing technology forward and a magnet for attracting talent.
Responsibilities:
Manage multiple teams of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for the team (e.g., performance evaluations, hiring, and disciplinary actions).
Provide strategic influence and exercise control over resources, budget management, and planning while monitoring end results.
Utilize in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within your own area and a basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues.
Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards.
Integrate in-depth knowledge of applications development with the overall technology function to achieve established goals.
Provide evaluative judgment based on analysis of facts in complicated, unique, and dynamic situations, including drawing from internal and external sources.
Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, as well as communicate with external parties as necessary.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets. This includes driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment, and escalating control issues with transparency.
Effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

This is a critical role requiring deep technical expertise in existing real-time systems and a quantitative foundation, including machine learning, to prepare the FI Pricing systems for the next phase of evolution. Specific projects include but are not limited to:
Implementing, for the first time, non-linear risk in real-time rates systems.
Aligning risk systems with the firm-wide risk strategy for using Xing/Xip.
Making major performance enhancements to risk calculations to handle both peak trading times and a significantly increased user base, going beyond only Rates traders.
Steering the architecture across the FI Pricing domain toward proven, scalable technologies.
Inspiring the local team to drive innovation while managing their careers.
Qualifications:
10+ years of relevant experience.
Experience in applications development.
Experience in management, including managing global technology teams.
Working knowledge of industry practices and standards.
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
Deep technical expertise in real-time systems and quantitative foundations, including machine learning.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
Master’s degree preferred.
