The KYC Operations Sr Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for Anti-Money Laundering (AML) monitoring, governance, oversight and regulatory reporting activities in coordination with the Compliance and Control team. The overall objective of this role is to develop and manage a dedicated internal KYC (Know Your Client) program at Citi.
Responsibilities:
- Project Management & Oversight
- Book of Work Management: Manage the comprehensive Name Screening Book of Work, including prioritization, resource allocation, and tracking of all projects and initiatives.
- Strategic Initiative Execution: Oversee the end-to-end execution of strategic initiatives impacting Name Screening, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and timely delivery.
- Project Lifecycle Management: Facilitate and monitor projects from initiation through closure, ensuring adherence to established methodologies and standards.
2. Governance
- Policy and Process Adherence: Ensure strict adherence to Name Screening policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with Name Screening processes and initiatives.
- Audit and Compliance: Support internal and external audit processes, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and guidelines.
- Decision-Making Framework: Establish and maintain a clear decision-making framework for Name Screening-related matters, ensuring transparency and accountability.
3. Reporting & Analytics
- Financial Reporting: Facilitate and execute Monthly Financial Review (MFR) meetings, providing insights into financial performance and budget adherence.
- Benefit Realization Tracking: Monitor and report on the realization of benefits from optimization initiatives
4. Operational Excellence & Optimization
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization within Name Screening, recommending, and implementing enhancements to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Operating Model Definition: Lead initiatives to define and agree upon the end-state operating model for Name Screening, including organizational structure, roles, and workflows.
- Technology Adoption: Support the adoption and effective utilization of technology solutions to enhance Name Screening capabilities.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Drive collaboration with cross-functional teams (e.g., KYC, IT, Operations) to ensure seamless integration and execution of initiatives.
5. Team Development & Knowledge Management
- Team Training & Mentorship: Train and mentor assigned team members to strengthen the overall capabilities of the PMO team.
- Knowledge Base Development: Establish and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base for Name Screening processes and best practices, serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
- Working Group Leadership: Lead and facilitate working groups to ensure smooth delivery of agreed tasks, including task identification, assignment, and timely completion.
6. Stakeholder Management
- Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with all relevant stakeholders, including senior management, business units, and project teams.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners to foster collaboration and support for Name Screening objectives.
7. Screening team
- Liaise with internal/external stakeholders to provide exception management reporting and Management Information System (MIS) reporting
- Perform quality reviews and reviews of procedures and processes
- Perform project management responsibilities, including producing project plans, conducting risk analyses and providing weekly updates for senior management, as needed
- Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
- Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
- Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
- 8. Familiarity with AI-powered tools and technologies used in KYC, AML, and Sanctions screening processes.
Qualifications:
- 5-8 years of experience
Education:
- Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
