The Corporate Banking Associate is an intermediate level professional responsible for leading the planning of investment strategies and solutions for major market clients in coordination with the Institutional Banking team. The overall objective of this role is to drive revenue by cross selling the Citi platform while efficiently deploying the firm's capital and evaluating and managing risk.

The Corporate Banking, Sustainability and Corporate Transitions team plays a pivotal role in the definition and implementation of Citi’s global strategy for decarbonization and sustainability. The team works in partnership with various groups across the firm including sector Corporate and Investment Banking Teams, Capital Markets, Corporate Functions, Climate Risk, and Institutional Credit Management (ICM), to deliver advisory, corporate finance and banking solutions across all sectors to support the firm’s goals related to sustainable and nature-positive outcomes, as well as to manage Citi’s sustainability goals where Banking is responsible.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with sector banking teams, risk officers, and senior leadership to define and implement strategies for decarbonization, as well as assessing client-related climate risk considerations.

  • Developing cross-sectoral expertise to support ongoing dialogues with clients about climate and energy transition plans, potential emissions reduction strategies, and addressing sector-specific challenges to realize sustainable finance opportunities.

  • Leading the end-to-end processes of assessing clients' climate and low-carbon transition profiles within sectors relevant to Citi's 2030 targets under the net zero commitment.

  • Conducting accounting and financial analysis, and capital markets analysis, including working with complex emissions accounting models.

  • Liaising with product specialists and investment banking groups to identify and scale sustainable finance opportunities across products and asset classes.

  • Engaging with third-party organizations and external vendors to stay abreast of evolving climate frameworks, tools, and data solutions.

  • Furthering the development and integration of climate risk management capabilities.

  • Conducting research on sectoral trends, macro impacts, and evolving policies, and synthesizing findings into compelling internal and client-facing materials.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree, preferably with course work in environmental studies, environmental management, corporate finance, or similar fields.

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.

  • Series 7 and 63 licenses are a plus (not required).
