Senior Release & Deployment Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Release & Deployment Engineer to oversee the end-to-end release lifecycle of our large-scale, multi-module platforms. The ideal candidate will be a master of orchestration and governance, using data-driven insights to continuously improve our release processes. You will be a key player in bridging the gap between development and operations, ensuring seamless and efficient deployments.

Release Orchestration & Governance

  • Drive end-to-end release planning, change control, risk assessment, and deployment window management.
  • Utilize Jira and Confluence as primary collaboration tools to maintain clarity and alignment across teams.
  • Balance the need for deployment speed with the imperative of maintaining platform stability.

Data-Driven Release Intelligence

  • Leverage Python and SQL to extract and analyze deployment metrics.
  • Build and maintain trend analysis to identify patterns and areas for improvement.
  • Transform release management from a reactive process into a proactive, continuous improvement engine.

Infrastructure & Environment Awareness

  • Apply a working knowledge of Unix/Linux operations and ECS/OpenShift environments.
  • Interpret deployment logs and server health metrics to make confident go/no-go decisions during deployment windows.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve deployment-related issues under pressure.

Stakeholder Communication & Collaboration

  • Translate complex technical information into clear and concise executive-level updates.
  • Lead structured and effective release calls with global, distributed teams.
  • Ensure accountability through detailed minutes of meetings (MoMs), action item tracking, and proactive escalation of issues.

CI/CD & DevOps Fluency

  • Navigate and manage CI/CD pipelines using Harness/Lightspeed.
  • Champion the adoption of automation in the release process, including ROD, parallel deployments, and automated post-deployment checks.
  • Act as a bridge between development and operations teams, fostering a collaborative DevOps culture.

AI-Augmented Release Operations

  • Apply GenAI tooling (e.g., Stylus, Copilot) to accelerate the creation of release documentation and runbooks.
  • Utilize AI to surface insights into deployment risks and to drive intelligent test data management.
  • Embed AI as a force multiplier across the entire release lifecycle to enhance efficiency and quality.

Qualifications

Required

  • Proven 10+ Year experience in a Release Engineering, DevOps, or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of release orchestration, governance, and change control processes.
  • Proficiency with Jira and Confluence.
  • Basic scripting and data analysis skills using Python and SQL.
  • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems and container orchestration platforms like ECS or OpenShift.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Harness or Lightspeed.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Experience with AI-powered developer tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Stylus) and an interest in applying AI to release operations.
  • A deep understanding of DevOps principles and a passion for automation.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
