Job Description

As the Finance Director, you will support a business manager in one of Citizens’ lines of business and will be responsible for the development and implementation of the financial and operational plans to support a complex (or smaller, related) business unit(s). You will have responsibility for all financial matters of the assigned business unit(s) and will manage a staff. Generally, the Finance Director role will support a complex business area or multiple related smaller business areas. Primary responsibilities include

  • Work closely with business unit Manager as well as Leadership team in development and implementation of business unit strategy.
  • Oversee all aspects of Financial management for the assigned business unit including month end close as well as planning and forecasting.
  • Closely monitor results of the assigned business unit and proactively work to identify risks and opportunities which are then communicated to management in a concise manner.
  • Apply a comprehensive understanding of metrics to provide value added analysis and high impact recommendations to Management.
  • Reinforce a strong accounting control environment that is in compliance with company policies and procedures. Provide strategic accounting advice to the assigned Leadership team. Encourage smart risk taking and innovative thinking.
  • Ensure business deliverables have a big impact on outcomes and are aligned with overall strategy.

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

15 years of experience in Finance, Strategy or Consulting, with a progressively broader scope

  • 5 years’ experience in the banking industry is strongly preferred
  • History of building successful partnerships with stakeholders, and leading with influence
  • Demonstrated ability to think deeply and understand the big picture, while working through the details required to ensure accountability for results
  • Strong communication and partnering skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with internal colleagues and partners
  • High level of proficiency in developing value-added analysis, and creating financial models
  • Proven ability to forecast business performance that consider market conditions, interest rate environment, product mix, margins, cost structure and other inputs.
  • Experience attracting, growing, and developing talent, while operating as a player-coach
  • Ability to work on multiple deliverables within tight deadlines
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint & Word
  • Proficiency with financial databases such as Oracle Hyperion Essbase/Smart View.
