Job Description
In support of our ambitious brand and business goals, Citizens is creating a new role on our in-house media team. This role will be responsible for the management of upper funnel media campaigns, reporting to the VP, Media Manager and working closely with our external media agencies.
This role sits as part of the media team and will support and/or lead development, implementation, optimization and measurement of our upper funnel media campaigns, including brand campaigns, sponsorships campaigns (sports & entertainment), and product plans. You will partner with key internal marketing partners to understand their goals and, in conjunction with media agencies and internal partners, develop paid media strategies and plans that deliver on key business needs.
As part of this role, you will work closely with the rest of the media team, the broader brand team, as well as colleagues from product marketing and social media to ensure strategic investment of our media dollars and flawless execution. As part of this flawless execution, you will have significant responsibilities for budget management and invoice processing, working in conjunction with marketing operations/finance partners.
Primary Responsibilities
Plan, develop, implement and optimize mass media campaigns
- Interpret marketing briefs, translating them into impactful integrated strategies across media channels
- Lead channel recommendations, including approval of buys, campaign monitoring, and guiding media optimizations
- Lead external media agencies across planning, activation, and analytics
- Represent media channel efforts internally, working closely with Marketing, Creative, Digital, Social, and Analytics teams.
- Package, summarize and explain media plans and performance highlights for partners
- Work cross-functionally with internal and external teams in a dynamic environment
- Manage of campaigns to ensure they deliver on time, on budget and on target.
- Support internal partners with media budget planning and forecasting
Advance Citizens paid advertising strategy
- Investigate and stay ahead of emerging advertising trends within digital, video, audio, experiential etc.
- Analyze and report on results and identify and apply key findings to future efforts
- Partner with key stakeholders as well as research partners to brainstorm and implement lift tests and geo-based experiments.
- Craft POVs on new media partners/channels/methods of buying
- In conjunction with our media agencies, keep a pulse on competitive spending and own the communication of those learnings internally, ensuring the factor into our plan recommendations as appropriate
- Recommend new paid media tactics, concepts, partners, and approaches to inform broader marketing strategy
Own budget management for media
- Meticulous management of budget for all upper funnel media campaigns, including correct attribution of products, media channels and markets to received invoices.
- Ensuring quarterly spend goals are met and maintained with accuracy.
- Identifying potential discrepancies on invoices.
- Accurately managing budget moves and media credits.
- Ability to meet strict internal processing deadlines.
Qualifications:
- 6-8 years of experience in an agency and/or corporate environment with record of success in media management and an established understanding of the wider communications landscape
- Experience planning and buying media channels such as Broadcast TV and Radio, OOH, social, digital video, streaming TV and audio, podcasts, etc. Familiarity with programmatic buying.
- Experience managing a budget and working with finance for accurate, timely reporting
- Must be detail-oriented and able to adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple teams/projects at once
- Excellent interpersonal, project management, and communication skills, with advanced skills in presentation writing/PowerPoint and excel
- Experience working with analytics teams, evaluating return-on-investment measurement.
- Constant finger on the pulse of the evolving media landscape, emerging technologies, consumer trends and media consumption habits and ability
- Technical understanding of media research and measurement systems (i.e. Adobe Analytics, DoubleClick, MRI, Comscore, Tableau)
- Experience with agency management, and a familiarity with agile principles, a plus
Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree; preference Marketing, Media or Communications

- Hours per Week: 40
- Work Schedule: M-F 8-5 Hybrid schedule 3 days in Westwood MA office 2 days remote.
