Position Summary
The Video Content Creator, reporting to the Executive Director of Video Services and Production, will administer all aspects of video and audio production, including pre-production planning, on-location recordings, editing, and distribution of content. This role involves managing studio and production equipment, supporting high-quality video content creation for various platforms. The incumbent will act as a videographer, camera operator, and editor, while also maintaining video production equipment and media libraries to ensure seamless operations.
Responsibilities
- Operate as a videographer and editor, enhancing projects with motion graphics, sound design, and animation.
- Collaborate with content teams to produce media tailored for platforms like YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and strategic marketing and communications.
- Incorporate emerging tools, including AI, for innovative content creation and editing.
- Maintain and optimize production equipment and workflows to improve efficiency.
- Document production processes and manage media assets and metadata effectively.
- Contribute video content to university communication campaigns by generating creative content ideas.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Film, Video, multimedia production, digital storytelling, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- 2-4 years of experience in video production and content creation.
- Proficiency with professional equipment, such as cameras, lighting, and microphones.
- Expertise in software like Final Cut Pro and Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop).
- Experience producing short-form videos for social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
- Strong skills in video editing, color correction, sound design, and motion graphics.
- Familiarity with both desktop production systems, as well as web and mobile technologies.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience integrating AI tools into content creation workflows.
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines in high-pressure environments.
- Success collaborating with interdisciplinary teams on communication projects.
Other Requirements
- Edit video, graphics, and photo content using Final Cut Pro X or Adobe Creative DaVinci Resolve.
- Create and manage written and visual content for social media platforms.
- Ensure proper archiving of content and posting of video transcriptions online.
- Support multi-camera recordings and live-streaming projects, ensuring technical quality.
- Stay updated on advancements in digital trends, including AR/VR, live-streaming, video recording, and AI technologies.
- Maintain professional interactions with clients, talent, and crew to represent the organization effectively.
