The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Department Administrator/CAO and working in collaboration with the Chair, Vice Chairs and Medical Directors of joint ventures, the Director of Clinical Operations will be responsible for overseeing the financial, operational and clinical activities for a portfolio of sites in the Department of Radiology.


Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative and supervisory oversight as necessary for the practice sites including issues related to patient care, quality assurance, policy and procedure, compliance, human resources, marketing and outreach, referring physician issues, revenue cycle and operations.
  • Takes measures to correct and/or resolve situations and ensures that appropriate personnel are involved.
  • Responsible for ensuring practice sites have adequate resources and maintain good relationships with vendors. Serve as escalation point with vendors in areas where needs are not met.
  • Responsible for managing clinical and non-clinical staff across multiple bargaining units with support of local practice managers.
  • Works with the radiologists daily as needed to facilitate workflow and patient care.
  • Assists with addressing patient concerns and implementing Departmental goals to meet and exceed target patient satisfaction scores.
  • Assists in coordination with other key management leaders in overseeing scheduling as it relates to Radiology RIS/PACS system, EPIC and patient flow.
  • Ensures appropriate processes are in place in support revenue cycle goals.
  • Acts as the liaison between all other radiology facilities within the Columbia/NYP network.
  • Works with the Department Administrator/CAO and Medical Director on Departmental projects including but not limited to install/upgrade of equipment, IT upgrades, strategic initiatives to promote increase in practice volume and implementation of new programs/projects.
  • Participate in development of budget targets for volume and review of variances against budget. Help establish personnel staffing needs and oversight of position requests within portfolio.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and organization skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and direct staff in a patient care setting. Experience with oversight for the revenue cycle.
  • Ability to provide initiative, judgment and creativity in the resolution of complex problems.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish realistic and achievable priorities and the ability to lead staff to achieve goals and objectives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferred, preferably in healthcare or finance related field, as well as five years of related experience.
