Position Summary
The Celiac Disease Center at Columbia University seeks a nutritionist who exemplifies professionalism and has a demonstrated interest in celiac disease. The nutritionist will provide clinical nutrition services, including direct patient care, individual counseling, group education, and nutrition education projects. They will also serve as a nutrition consultant to healthcare providers and staff, participate in research, and contribute to presentations and publications.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult and pediatric patients, including initial and follow-up visits.
- Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and dietary counseling.
- Document all patient interactions in the electronic medical record.
- Review and update diet education materials periodically.
- Conduct product research and remain current on latest nutritional research.
- Develop new educational materials as needed.
- Present educational content to patient groups, support groups, and professional audiences.
- Assist with ongoing research projects.
- Perform additional related duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of related experience.
- Registered Dietitian (RD) credential.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications

Other Requirements
- Medical clearance and participation in the medical surveillance program
- Contact with patients and/or human research subjects
- Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements
