Shift: 7:00 AM-3:30 PMHourly Rate: $22.10 an hour

SUMMARY: The Material Handler is responsible for working safely and efficiently on the production floor to deliver ingredients to the production line and take finished product to the warehouse.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safety:

  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain a clean and organized production area to promote a safe work environment
  • Use proper lifting technique when handling waste bins, ingredient bags and heavy items
  • Notify supervisor immediately if any unsafe or potentially hazardous conditions are discovered

Quality:

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of good manufacturing practice (GMP) and cross contamination
  • Maintain and demonstrate a thorough understanding of processing specifications for varying products and materials
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of electronic inventory tracking system (SAP)
  • Order/receive materials and perform lot code changes
  • Perform safety and quality checks as needed
  • Perform sanitation tasks to clean and sanitize all production equipment as necessary

Production:

  • Deliver raw ingredients to the production floor accurately and in a timely manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Fill in on other shifts when necessary and work Saturday on occasion
  • Transport unwrapped pallets from production to wrapping machine for completion and labeling

  • Must be respectful of others and demonstrate professional work habits
  • Reliable and able to work within a team in fast paced environment
  • Train, assist and lead employees (new and current) for development in required operational skills
  • Able to adhere to all Conagra Brands policies and procedures

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three or more month’s related experience or other food production experience or manufacturing experience
  • Must have forklift experience and certification
  • Must be able to effectively use the English language, in verbal and written form
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and interpret work instructions and safety rules using English
  • Ability to perform operations of weight, volume and length measurement
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions
