Job Description:

The Commercial Portfolio Loan Officer III, Workout administers and monitors portfolio of Commercial loans, personally managing or assisting lenders in managing loan relationships within the group.

Depth & Scope:

  • Administers and monitors large portfolio of large, complex commercial loans
  • Personally manages loan relationships with in the group
  • Ensures accuracy and maintenance of Customer records and files and updates information as needed. Prepares more in-depth management reports summarizing portfolio activity
  • Pays specific attention to credit administration, exception and risk management based on common metrics
  • Administers existing loans to ensure complete conformity with terms and adequacy of documentation, including preparation of criticized asset reports and review memos; coordinates with operations and processing areas to ensure loan payments are collected and recorded
  • Maintains current risk rating on Customers and makes appropriate comments in Customer credit files to ensure information remains current
  • Accompanies loan officers during sales calls to assist with account details and implementation
  • Provides technical guidance and assists staff with most complex aspects of work as necessary
  • May provide training and mentoring for new and less experienced staff
  • Coordinates with credit department and performs more in-depth financial analyses and credit investigations to make credit decisions on line extensions and other loans
  • Contributes and provides input to group loan decision processes based on evaluation of credit risk and other key factors
  • Visits Customers independently and with commercial loan officers to maintain strong business relationships
  • Is assigned own accounts and/or share account management responsibilities with commercial loan officers
  • Performs periodic inspections at Customer sites to audit accounts and ensure adherence to loan agreements and terms
  • Administers existing loans to ensure complete conformity with terms and adequacy of documentation, including preparation of criticized asset reports and review memos; coordinates with operations and processing areas to ensure loan payments are collected and recorded
  • Utilizes limited personal credit authority under the direction of the Relationship Manager, for the benefit of Customers and efficiency of the lending process


Education & Experience:

  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years related experience
  • In-depth understanding of commercial credit decision process
  • Demonstrates credit, financial analysis and accounting skills
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial legal and regulatory guidelines
  • Proven Customer service and relationship management skills, including demonstrated track record of building and expanding Customer relationships
  • Demonstrates attention to detail
  • Supervisory skills
  • Demonstrated communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient PC skills
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Formal Credit Analyst training
  • Skilled in MIrcrosoft Office
