Position Overview

CAA is seeking an M&A Director to join its Corporate Strategy and Business Development team, based in LA. The candidate will report to the Head of M&A and Strategy, joining a small group of professionals with backgrounds in media & technology, consulting, investment banking and private equity who serve as in-house advisors to CAA’s executive leadership. The candidate will have the chance to work alongside various departments within the organization, including division heads and senior agents, gaining exposure to a wide-array of projects across different sectors of the media industry. Specific activities include sourcing, evaluating and negotiating M&A opportunities. Additionally, the candidate will be involved in other corporate-related initiatives on behalf of CAA (e.g., cap table management, liquidity program execution, free cash flow forecasting, etc.).

Objectives

  • Source, diligence and execute M&A transactions and support integration post-transaction

  • Define and analyze critical new business development opportunities for the Company, working directly with C-suite executives and senior agents

  • Conduct sector analyses, including market sizing, competitor landscape and trends

  • Create business plans for new corporate ventures

  • Assess and analyze critical media and entertainment trends worldwide

  • Author and present well-structured, insightful, executive-ready presentations to summarize key findings and recommendations

  • Drive corporate-related initiatives on behalf of CAA (e.g., cap table management, liquidity program execution, free cash flow forecasting, etc.)

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 8+ years of work experience in private equity, investment banking, or similar roles (preferably with direct experience in the media, entertainment, or sports sectors)

  • Strong financial modeling skills for highly quantitative analyses

  • Independent thinker with a point of view on the risks and rewards of new investment opportunities

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Top-notch work ethic and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage a deal team and meet deadlines with a high level of responsibility and autonomy

Location: This is a hybrid role based out of our Los Angeles office.

Compensation The annual base salary for this position is in the range of $210,000 - $251,000. This position is also eligible for benefits and a discretionary bonus. Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in the role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
