DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities:
Participate as a team member in the supplier evaluation, selection, and strategic sourcing processes.
Assist in supplier corrective action processes, including fault tree analysis, root cause analysis, and implementing permanent corrective actions.
Support suppliers in utilizing quality tools, especially the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), ensuring compliance with the Cummins Supplier Handbook.
Review supplier quality resources for new product introductions and existing products to mitigate supplier-related issues and enhance process capabilities.
Collaborate with suppliers on continuous improvement initiatives aimed at defect reduction.
Manage end-to-end VPI / VPC project supplier quality deliverables through M0-M6 / V0_V6 gates.
Lead and coordinate multiple VPI/VPC projects involving various suppliers and stakeholders, ensuring alignment on project scopes and quality deliverables.
Utilize statistical tools and methods to assess supplier performance and drive improvement actions.
Represent Cummins in technical interfaces with the external supply chain, ensuring product quality meets Cummins standards.

Quality Process Management - Proficient application of quality tools and methods (e.g. APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, Capability studies, Process Audit, inspection, test, etc.) to ensure quality of products, processes and services. Education, Licenses, Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical Engineering
Experience: 8-10 years of hands-on experience in new part development across various commodities (e.g., casting, forging, fabrication, rubber , hardware , hoses , mechanical assembly
2 to 3 years of project management experience, specifically in engine/genset-related parts.
Proven experience in implementing SQE core tools at suppliers (Early Supplier Engagement, APQP, ZDM, PPAP, process capability , msa , control plan, fmea etc.).
Hands on experience on instruments such as vernier, micrometre , dial indicator, bore gauge, air gauges, thread plug gauges , hardness testing shore hardness , low pressure micrometer etc
Hands on experience on cmm inspection report interpretation, datum logic definition, gdt calculations system logic vs actual results, cmm measurement correlation study, contour measurement analysis,
Hands on experience on at least 10 PPAP completion with Level V /III
Hands on experience on Dqr , technical review conducted for 10+ parts

Conflict Management and Communication: Capable of navigating conflicts effectively while maintaining clear communication.
Additional Requirements:
Willingness to travel to supplier sites frequently ( 70% )
Face to face meeting with supplier _ design engineer_purchasing needs to be conducted frequently at IOC, CTCI ,CIL ,PHP, CPG and supplier sites hence frequent traveling is mandatory
Candidate to be proffered working from Plant /IOC for collaborative working with purchasing _ SQE category team _project manager
Six Sigma certification preferred
Proficiency in Excel is must for data analysis
Hands-on experience with various metrology instruments and CQI-9 related processes
Proficiency in data analysis in excel, bi data base , paython , ppt etc mandatory
