DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Field Service Engine Technician to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business (Oak Creek, WI).
$5000 sign on bonus
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Complete troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on engine products and other customer equipment in a service shop.
Perform preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines, including utilizing computers/software in the process of diagnostic work.
Apply documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
Completing required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
Ongoing training and additional certifications on new and existing Cummins products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role the following is preferred:
- (Advanced) Technician Level III: Significant relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on most or all of products in-scope for a technician at this location; frequently engaged in complex diagnosis and repair; requires minimal to no supervision; ability to effectively train and guide less experienced technicians of varying skillsets.
QUALIFICATIONS
Customer-facing role.
Engage customers courteously and professionally.
Anticipates and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
Maintain service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor.
Capturing engine data
Fault diagnostics
Diverse range engine repairs, both major and minor
Inspect and replace components as required
Engine rebuilding and reconditioning
Ability to work autonomously as well as having the ability to work in a great team environment
A high level of medium and heavy-duty engine experience in the field or from the workshop looking to move into the field
Relevant trade qualification
Strong engine diagnostic experience
A genuine commitment to workplace safety
A valid driver’s license
Good interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.
A current valid license is required for this role
This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
3 years driving experience
This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
