We are looking for an experienced Transportation Team Leader to join our team in our SE Asia office in Singapore and reports to the Transportation Manager. The role be the point of escalation for the team and managing both high volumes of inbound and outbound operations. This role will also be working very closely with Material planner, Customer service and Warehouse operations.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Shipping:

  • Leading a team responsible for all Transportation operation activities

  • Ensure all shipments (FCL, LCL, Air, and Courier) from Global Suppliers are meeting delivery targets for all Shipments.

  • Lead resolutions for escalations from internal stakeholders for transportation related issues.

  • Initiate performance reviews with the freight forwarders.

  • Laise with Freight forwarders and shipping agents to build partnerships.

  • Randomly audit for freight invoices

  • Maintain the master data trackers to ensure that all the shipments are up to date and visible to stakeholders.

  • Raise quotations and selection of freight forwarders for Ad-hoc shipments.

  • Leading process improvement initiatives and proposals to improve metrics.

Quality:

  • Working closely with the Quality team for claims processes related to forwarders damages or shipment discrepancy.

Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE):

  • Working closely with HSE to investigate root cause for safety incidents and provide recommendations if needed.

  • Perform a regular audit on the site traffic safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • ​Materials Planning System Utilization - Uses the materials planning system to manage supply and demand plans taking long-term corrective action on exception messages and other alerts based on root cause analysis; occasionally refers to adhoc tools such as Excel, Access, TOAD, OMS, etc. in performing problem solving, while leveraging the materials planning system as the primary tool in day-to-day operations.

  • ​Part Change Control Management - Evaluates and implements engineering change request (obsolescence, supersessions, new part release, etc.) to meet customer delivery requirements while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.

  • ​Plan for Every Part (PFEP) - Uses PFEP in planning, designing, and management of systems and processes within a facility to ensure delivery of right part at the right time in the right quantity to the right place, which in turn guarantees smooth operations; applies PFEP principles on the end to end supply chain with particular attention to the relationships between master data management, materials planning parameters, engineered material flows, transport management, and warehouse management.

  • Master Supply Scheduling - Establishes and maintains a valid Master Production Schedule for a family of products, which meets customer’s expectations and requirements while maximizing operational efficiency; validates procurement scheduling, production scheduling, and replenishment planning are aligned to manufacturing and assembly assets for conversion.

  • Materials KPI Management - Operates in relation to recent or historical outputs as compared to expectations of the organization to determine next steps to drive improvement; assesses gaps to the supply chain performance against the expectation of achieving target deliverables; interprets KPIs to understand end-customer impact; strategically balances trade-offs to influence one KPI while minimizing the impact to others.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualification:

  • Degree in supply Chain/Logistics, Business, Engineering, or other relevant qualifications

  • At-least 3 years of work experience in Supply Chain logistics industry

  • Experience in managing high volumes of inbound and outbound cargo flow.

  • Experience in Supervisory role or leading a team experience.

  • Good knowledge of Import/Export shipping procedures and documentations will be advantages.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, detail-oriented, and meticulous

  • Able to multi-task and possess a great sense of responsibility.

  • Analytical mindset

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel (Advanced), PowerPoint, using other systems as required by the team.
