DESCRIPTION

Utilize advanced industrial engineering knowledge to lead purchasing and sourcing strategies across business units and to cross-functional teams to reduce costs, minimize risks, and optimize business processes. Identify issue scope and analyze complex sourcing and purchasing initiatives and processes. Utilize product cost management and specialized knowledge of manufacturing processes involved in producing parts to implement policies and metrics to ensure the best combination of cost, quality, and delivery. Lead the sourcing process, including the process associated with industry, market, and category analysis to manage supplier capacity and ensure capability to meet supply demands. Plan and establish sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products and to promote efficient utilization. Identify, plan and implement continuous improvement opportunities within the supply chain using analytical tools including Six Sigma, Lean, 5S, Kaizen, Kanban and Value Stream Mapping. Responsible for managing heavy and complex Supply Chain in global spend. Responsible for overall dual sourcing target globally to mitigate the supply risks using knowledge of Supply Base Risk Management. Develop capable suppliers to meet USMCA and Buy America requirements. Responsible for both HPDC and NHPDC parts for Aluminum castings. Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures and activities. Manage supplier relationships by conducting regular supplier review meetings using performance metrics and supplier scorecards that include data related to service levels, quality, and cost. Utilize Cost & Value Management and drive Total Cost of Opportunity (TCO) methodology to establish and control product and service costs to deliver and track product and services at competitive prices. Establish category strategy using Total Value Performance (TVP) approach to develop the Supply Base, Tooling and Technology Strategy to meet all current and future needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Positions require a Master’s degree in Industrial or Logistics Engineering, or related field and 3 years of experience as a Supply Chain, Sourcing or Project Manager, Sourcing Specialist or related position. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Logistics Engineering, or related field and 5 years of experience as a Supply Chain, Sourcing or Project Manager, Sourcing Specialist or related position. Experience to include: Lead purchasing and sourcing strategies; Product cost management; Demand and supplier capacity management; Analytical tools including Six Sigma, Lean, 5S, Kaizen, Kanban and Value Stream Mapping; Supply Base Risk Management; Supplier Relationship Management; Cost & Value Management; Total Cost of Opportunity (TCO) methodology; Category Strategy Development; Total Value Performance (TVP).
