DESCRIPTION

Following the success of our Regional Capability Trainer pilot, we are looking for a Regional Capability Trainer to join our Laverton workshop in Melbourne . You will provide classroom, workshop hands-on, and technical training for Heavy Vehicle Technician Apprentices and new Technicians.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Coach and develop less experienced technicians and apprentices to independently undertake troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on Cummins Products.

  • Delivery of Diesel Engine Fundamentals and Basic Diagnostic training to all apprentices in the region.

  • Participate in monthly Capability Trainer meetings and provide updates on progress against Heavy Vehicle Mechanical milestone training plan for the apprentices in your branch/region.

  • Provide stakeholder updates and regularly communicate your training program delivery schedule with Supervisors, Workshop Manager and Service Manager.

  • Maintain a focus on apprentice safety by participating in extended pre-start meetings to ensure their understanding of workplace hazards and risk.

  • Participate in the annual Apprentice Onboarding Program.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Advanced level knowledge of and experience with Heavy Duty Engine products is essential.

  • Previous experience providing technical advice and coaching to apprentices/technicians (preferred).

  • Possess or be willing to work towards achievement of Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

  • Minimum 4 years post trade apprenticeship completion preferred.

  • Candidates must be based in Melbourne, and willing to travel across the region as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information:

  • Location: Laverton, VIC (with up to 25% travel required per year)

  • Reports to: Training Manager, APAC with a dotted line to the Laverton Service Manager.

  • Salary & Benefits: This position is paid fortnightly (wage), with overtime opportunities available.
