DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Area Vice President of Operations to join our DBU CSSNA Northern Region, working from WI, MN, or IL.
The Area Vice President of Operations role entails full responsibility for managing a group of branches within a specific business unit or geography, specifically the DBU CSSNA Northern Region. The leader will oversee operations, with direct reports across multiple states. The customer base spans all market segments, (PowerGen, On-Highway, Industrial).
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Guide Branch Managers to achieve operational excellence and financial performance across all branches, aligning with the Annual Operating Plan.
Collaborate with Business Development and Branch Managers to develop and execute the Annual Operating Plan, ensuring alignment with company goals.
Track and analyze key business metrics—balanced scorecards, P&L, and asset utilization—to drive continuous improvement and accountability.
Lead market analysis and implement targeted marketing and sales strategies to expand the customer base and forge new business partnerships.
Champion customer satisfaction through Net Promoter Score and Lens of the Customer programs, fostering a service-oriented culture.
Oversee warranty processes and Repair Event Cycle Time, using insights to improve service quality and reduce repeat issues.
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards while promoting corporate responsibility within the community.
Recruit, mentor, and retain high-performing teams, supporting Branch Managers with clear work plans and development goals.

Use financial insights to guide branch performance, budgeting, and resource allocation.

Actively contribute to the North Regional Leadership Team and lead cross-regional initiatives.
Understand market dynamics and Cummins’ global business to drive growth and competitive advantage.

Attract and retain top talent to meet evolving business needs.
Build high-performing, diverse teams that collaborate effectively toward shared goals.
Effective Communication & Conflict Management
Communicate clearly and persuasively with diverse audiences, including during union negotiations.

Foster strong customer relationships and deliver tailored, high-quality service solutions.
Use customer feedback (e.g., Net Promoter Score) to continuously improve service delivery.
Operational Excellence in Service Delivery
Apply the Service Capability, Capacity, and Coverage framework to ensure consistent, high-quality service.
Monitor and improve service metrics like Repair Event Cycle Time and warranty processes.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Leadership
Champion a culture of safety and compliance, influencing behaviors at all levels of the organization.
Ensure all branches meet or exceed HSE standards.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
College, university, or equivalent degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related subject is required.
Six Sigma Green Belt certification or Sponsor certification are required.
A significant level of relevant work experience is required, including Managerial experience, Budgetary responsibility, Strategic planning and execution experience
Compensation
Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.

Max Salary $225000
