We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Perth. This position is based in the Perth Master Rebuild Centre (MRC) helping the team to efficiently remanufacture Cummins High Horsepower (19L-78L) engines. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Contributes to the planning, designing, purchasing, and implementation of changes to the manufacturing equipment and systems while contributing to teams.
Assists with the work for specific projects to create and implement all aspects of a manufacturing processes to ensure safety requirements, manufacturing goals, business goals, and product specifications are met.
Contributes by applying the knowledge or use of manufacturing principles and practices to improve manufacturing equipment and processes.
Assists with the development of manufacturing standards and working methods by using continuous improvement tools.
Works with internal and external resources on specific project assignments.
Learns the knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices as they are applied to Cummins.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Tertiary qualification in relevant engineering field.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Strong safety mindset.
Understands ergonomic concepts and can apply Cummins ergonomic standards, guidelines, controls, and tools to reduce ergonomic risk to employees while at work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
High school diploma or equivalent; significant hands-on experience in manufacturing or maintenance roles.
Thorough understanding of safety protocols related to electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in industrial environments.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage complexity in fast-paced manufacturing settings.
Demonstrated ability to lead others, communicate effectively across teams, and drive results under pressure.
Experience with preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities using diagrams, manuals, and testing instruments.
Familiarity with quality systems, process documentation, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Competencies in collaboration, customer focus, decision-making, accountability, and nimble learning.
Commitment to health and safety fundamentals and environmental stewardship in daily operations.
5+ years in an engine re-manufacturing environment in highly desired
QUALIFICATIONS
This role interacts directly with the Perth MRC production team to support their operations with operational excellence scope of work including:
L1 problem solver for issues impacting production like BOM issues, alternate parts, supersession analysis, etc.
Identifying and delivering small projects, being a key member of large projects and completing the HSE management of change process.
Owning of the site maintenance program including booking and tracking of maintenance contractors
Contractor manager for the Perth MRC: including inductions, compliance checks and escorting on site
Process RFC owner for the Perth MRC delivering work instruction and process sequencing changes as requested.
