DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Health, Safety and Environment Leader - Moderate Complexity - to join our team specializing in Health and Safety for our Cummins location, Morristown, TN.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Cross-Functional Relationship Building : Ability to foster strong partnerships across departments to ensure shared accountability and commitment to a positive health, safety, and environmental culture.

  • Employee Engagement and Inclusion : Skill in consulting with employees and incorporating their input into the development and implementation of HSE programs, policies, and procedures.

  • Strategic Risk Management : Expertise in leading hazard identification, environmental aspect analysis, and risk assessments to uncover compliance gaps and drive strategic improvements.

  • Operational Planning and Execution : Capability to set site-specific targets and objectives, manage planning actions, and ensure timely execution of initiatives.

  • Training and Support Leadership : Proficiency in developing and delivering training, internal communications, and support content that is current, compliant, and accessible.

  • Regulatory and Legal Interface : Confidence in representing the organization with external regulatory bodies, supported by legal counsel, to manage compliance and uphold Cummins’ standards.

  • Performance and Data Analysis : Ability to evaluate HSE data, audit findings, and compliance metrics to build tactical improvement plans and drive measurable performance gains.

  • Talent Development and Continuous Learning : Commitment to coaching teams, developing future leaders, and pursuing self-development through professional HSE organizations and emerging industry trends.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

College, university, or equivalent degree in Occupational Health, Safety or Environmental required. Professional certification in HSE-related field preferred.

Experience:

Significant relevant experience required, including management of health, safety and/or environmental ISO Standards required. 5-7 years of experience, 1-2 years management experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Lead plant ICare Program

  • Support the development and implementation of plant ergonomic initiatives.

  • Develop and initiate plant safety culture improvements.

  • Provide guidance and support to plant engineering projects.

  • Leading the site’s Health Safety & Environmental Management System

  • Collaborating with the site’s leadership team to develop the site’s HSE continuous improvement plan

  • It's an On-Site position.
