DESCRIPTION
Cummins is looking for a diesel mechanic to join their team in Calgary as a Field service diesel technician.
In this role you will have the following impacts :
Engage customers in a courteous and professional manner.
Anticipate and ensure prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
Apply the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete less complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
Perform preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on engine and related components in the field.
Escalate unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor.
Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
Identify additional service opportunities with customers.
Complete training in line with skill and business requirements.
Maintain service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
Red seal Heavy duty mechanics or Truck and transport certification is mandatory for this position.
Locally valid driving permit is mandatory for this position.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Basic level field service work experience.
Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.
Customer service experience
Successful candidate must be able to travel to the USA on occasion.
About the role :
You will be working on city buses, oil and gas equipment, farm equipment, OFF road equipment and ON road equipment
This position may be needed to work in the shop, may be needed to report to other branches when business needs are required.
Monday to Friday 8 hour days
