Estamos buscando un(a) talentoso(a) Senior Commvault Backup Engineer para unirse a nuestro equipo especializado en IT para nuestra compañía CUMMINS con Ubicación Guadalajara, Jalisco, Posición hibrida, 60% on site, 40% home office).
RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Core responsibilities:
Provide expert-level support and guidance for the Commvault platform, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Lead the resolution of complex technical issues related to Commvault deployments, troubleshooting backup failures, restore issues, and performance concerns.
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to design and implement scalable, high-performance backup and recovery solutions.
Leverage Automation and AI to ensure the continuous monitoring, maintenance, and health checks of the Commvault environment, proactively addressing any potential issues.
Define and authorize platform upgrades, patches, and version migrations to minimizing downtime and ensure seamless transitions.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations, procedures, and best practices related to the Commvault environment.
Act as the escalation point for the internal support teams and clients to resolve high priority / complex issues impacting critical business functions.
Participate in capacity planning and performance tuning of the platform to meet future business needs.

System Solution Architecture - Creates solution designs and patterns using the Cummins Technical Reference Model (CTRM), CLEAN standards, and existing reference patterns to maintain alignment to Cummins standards.

QUALIFICATIONS
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
+5 years of relevant work experience required. Experience in Systems Engineering, desirable supervisory experience, utilizing a broad knowledge base in fundamental IT skills and modern development and deployment practices,
DevSecOps tooling, and infrastructure as code (IaC) preferred.
Hands on experience as an Enterprise IT Architect preferred.
Broad business knowledge required
Proven experience as a Commvault SME or in a senior technical support role, focusing on Commvault platform administration and support.
Extensive hands-on experience with Commvault backup and recovery solutions (e.g., CommServe, Media Agents, and CommVault Storage Policies).
Strong understanding of data protection strategies, disaster recovery, and high availability configurations.
Experience with troubleshooting and resolving complex issues related to backup, restore, replication, and disaster recovery.
Expertise in various operating systems (Windows, Linux) and storage solutions (NAS, SAN, Cloud).
In-depth knowledge of Commvault’s licensing models and best practices for performance optimization and capacity management.
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and within teams.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Advanced English level is required.
Education / Qualifications
College, university, or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related. Bachelor’s degree is required.
Commvault certifications such as Commvault Certified Professional (CCP) or equivalent.
Familiarity with cloud backup solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP) and integration with Commvault.
Knowledge of ITIL and related frameworks for incident and change management.
Google, AWS, Azure, Oracle, Docker, Kubernetes, Puppet, CompTIA, and other Cloud Development Certifications are preferred.
Cloud architecture certifications, or Cloud Development certifications are preferred.
