DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Operations Excellence Specialist – Senior to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Oshkosh, WI location.

RESPONSIBILITIES

*To be successful in this role you will need the following: *

  • Operations Excellence Expertise: Apply deep knowledge of Operations Excellence principles and practices to lead improvements, develop manufacturing standards, and drive alignment with Cummins’ strategic roadmap.

  • Continuous Improvement Leadership: Utilize Lean tools and methodologies to identify opportunities, lead step-change improvements, and deliver measurable results across plant functions and processes.

  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Coordinate with business leaders and process owners to define plant maturity goals and execute the Corporate Operations Excellence Strategy to achieve them.

  • Stakeholder Engagement and Coaching: Influence and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, providing coaching and guidance to help them identify issues, prioritize initiatives, and implement solutions effectively.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead and support projects in a cross-functional environment, ensuring alignment across departments and driving performance in end-to-end value streams.

  • Technical Problem Solving: Provide solutions to complex manufacturing challenges by leveraging your experience, Lean background, and Six Sigma certification (Green Belt/Black Belt).

  • Knowledge Sharing and Capability Building: Champion knowledge transfer and develop subject-matter expertise within the plant by mentoring others and supporting small sites new to Operations Excellence.

  • Adaptability and Union Awareness: Operate effectively in diverse environments, including unionized settings, and adapt your approach to meet the unique needs of each plant or site.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

College, university or equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience required.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Intermediate level of relevant work experience, including manufacturing or manufacturing plant experience, team leadership experience, preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Lean Background

  • Union experiences beneficial

  • Green Belt / Black Belt Certified

  • Material Flow Expert
