DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage installation & commissioning of machines/equipments.

  2. Responsible for maintenance of general purpose , CNC & SPM machines in Machine shop.

  3. Interfacing of automated material handling systems with the machines.

  4. Consistently Maintain & Improve Housekeeping standards.

  5. Implementation of safety systems - Job safety analysis, Risk assessments and work permits, LOTO related to maintenance activities in machine shop.

  6. Ability to manage teams of Associates, ITI’s & DETs / trainees and resolve their issues

  7. Maintain the discipline of the work force.

  8. Spare parts planning and inventory management on the basis of VED and ABC analysis.

  9. Achieve cost reduction by initiating various improvement projects to reduce the managed expenses of BU.

  10. Giving timely feedback of progress /issues to BU / maintenance leader

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

DME (Diploma Mechanical Engineering)

Experience:

5 to 8 Years of experience. Preferred in Machine shop maintenance activities, Hands on CNCs (VMC, HMC), SPMs, Gantry, washing machines, Floor automations, material handling systems like gantry, conveyors and Robot systems etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

1) Maintenance of all HMCs, VMCs, SPMs & other equipment's in M/c Shop.

2) Achieve Zero Safety Incidences in Machine shop.

3) Maintain 5S Score in machine shop & Plant Engg. Dept.

4) Ensure to adherence to all safety & discipline norms.

5) Handle day to day maintenance activities & issues in machine shop.

6) Ensure to update shop breakdown history & analysis.

7) Resolve daily Machine, Equipment related quality & breakdown issues.

8) Preparation & keeping of various maintenance reports.

9) Execute PM in machine shop & Update in Cummins System

10) Installation & Commissioning of new machines.

11) Undertake projects related with Improving Maint. KPIs.

12) Ensure 100% PM compliance as per planned schedule.

13) Maximo system monitoring & timely completion of all work orders.

14) Maintain & Improve Housekeeping standards with discipline of the work force.

15) LOTO, Risk assessments, work permits & Safety practices implementation in machine shop.

16) Maintaining the Uptime/ MTBF/MTTR of all critical equipment.

17) Familiar with Hydraulic, Pneumatic systems & basic electrical fundamentals, knowledge of CNC machines & their working.

18) Implement safety system in the machine shop.

19) Guide work staff to achieve their individual targets.

  • Skills / Competencies:-Diploma in Mechanical engineering.
  1. Knowledge of Machine tools, manufacturing fundamentals.

  2. Good Communication skills & Knowledge of Computer operating

  3. Good Analytical skills with proactive

  4. Team player & Basic knowledge of Health & safety

  5. Knowledge of Basic hydraulics, pneumatics will have added advantage

  6. Basic Knowledge of TPM, 5S, RCA techniques etc.

1. Technical Knowledge

Machine Tools : Lathe, milling, grinding, drilling, CNC machines, SPMs, Robots, Gantry systems, conveyors etc.

Mechanical Systems : Bearings, shafts, gears, couplings, belts, chains.

Hydraulics & Pneumatics : Understanding of valves, pumps, cylinders, pressure systems.

Lubrication Systems : Types of lubricants, schedules, and methods.

Alignment & Balancing : Shaft alignment, vibration analysis basics.

2. Maintenance Skills

  • Preventive Maintenance (PM) : Scheduled inspections, lubrication, cleaning.

  • Breakdown Maintenance : Quick troubleshooting and repair under pressure.

  • Predictive Maintenance : Using tools like vibration meters, thermography.

  • Root Cause Analysis : Identifying underlying issues to prevent recurrence.

3. Tool Handling

  • Hand Tools & Power Tools : Wrenches, torque tools, grinders, drills.

  • Measuring Instruments : Vernier caliper, micrometer, dial gauge, bore gauge.

  • Precision Alignment Tools : Dial indicators, laser alignment systems.

4. Safety & Compliance

Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.

Machine Guarding and safe work practices.

Knowledge of ISO/OSHA standards for mechanical maintenance.

5. Soft Skills

  • Problem-Solving : Quick and logical troubleshooting.

  • Documentation : Maintenance logs, reports, and checklists.

  • Communication : Coordinating with operators and supervisors.

6. Additional Skills

Basic Electrical Knowledge : Motors, sensors, wiring for machine integration.

Reading Engineering Drawings : Assembly and part drawings.

Computer Skills : CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) usage.
