DESCRIPTION

This is an on-site position based at our location in Craiova.

Join our High KVA Mechanical Design Team and help shape the next generation of high-power alternators and synchronous machines. This on-site role offers hands-on experience transforming customer requirements into robust, manufacturable designs, working closely with product, manufacturing, and quality teams.

What You Will Do

Design & Product Development

  • Create detailed 3D and 2D mechanical designs for synchronous alternators, including assemblies, components, and specifications.

  • Prepare rotor layouts, general arrangement drawings, and technical documentation for customer offers and order fulfillment.

  • Select materials and mechanical solutions that meet performance, thermal, and structural requirements.

Project & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Evaluate customer specifications and propose feasible engineering solutions.

  • Work directly with production, industrialisation, and quotation teams to ensure smooth design-to-manufacturing transitions.

  • Support design reviews with clear engineering rationale and documentation.

Standards, Documentation & ERP Integration

  • Maintain accurate BOMs, drawings, and engineering documentation.

  • Ensure all designs comply with internal standards and customer requirements.

  • Integrate mechanical design data into the ERP system for proper part structuring and traceability.

Design Validation & Continuous Improvement

  • Perform mechanical calculations and simulations, such as stress analysis and bearing life assessments.

  • Support testing and validation activities to confirm design performance.

  • Investigate mechanical non-conformities, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

  • Apply reference designs and contribute to modular, standardized design approaches.

Teamwork & Knowledge Sharing

  • Collaborate with other engineers to ensure consistency across High KVA product lines.

  • Share best practices and help refine workflows, tools, and design guidelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred but not required).

  • Solid experience in mechanical design, ideally within heavy machinery, rotating equipment, or power systems.

  • Strong foundation in mechanical calculations, engineering principles, and design concepts.

  • Proficiency with CAD tools (3D & 2D) and ERP integration.

  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.

  • English communication skills (spoken and written).

  • Why Join Us

  • Work on technically challenging, high-power mechanical systems with tangible impact.

  • Collaborate with a knowledgeable, supportive engineering team.

  • Influence the evolution of product architecture and design standards.

  • Be part of a hands-on on-site environment with direct exposure to manufacturing and testing.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience in an equivalent field
