DESCRIPTION
The Site Quality Engineer – Senior creates value for the assigned manufacturing site by leading continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring defect-free processes that meet customer, regulatory, and business requirements. This role drives quality excellence through robust quality systems, data-driven decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration, supporting both current production and new product introductions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage site-level quality systems related to customer issues, including corrective action requests, containment activities, and root cause analysis.
Ensure products and manufacturing processes meet initial and long-term quality standards, including IATF, customer-specific requirements, APQP, and PPAP documentation and submissions.
Lead and/or support change management activities for existing products and Value Package Introduction (VPI), verifying products and processes meet defined quality metrics and performance targets.
Support and/or lead internal and external quality audits and ensure effective closure of audit findings.
Serve as a technical quality resource to cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Program Management.
Coach and mentor less experienced quality team members to strengthen quality capability and culture.
Prioritize and lead continuous improvement initiatives with cross-functional partners using proven methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, 7-Step Problem Solving, IQTM, and AIAG core tools.
Lead and/or support Safe Launch initiatives during VPI to ensure stable and capable production processes.
Analyze quality and manufacturing data to provide decision support and drive sustainable improvements

Qualifications
College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering or a related technical or scientific discipline, or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated role competence in quality and manufacturing environments.
May require licensing or authorization for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Skills and Experience
Intermediate level of experience required.
Typically, 3–5 years of experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, or Program Management within the automotive industry or a similarly regulated industry.
Minimum of 2 years of direct manufacturing or quality-related experience.
Strong working knowledge of AIAG core tools, APQP, PPAP, SPC, FMEA, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience supporting customer audits, corrective actions, and Safe Launch activities.
Additional Qualifications – Internal Candidates
Responsibility for Machining Quality Assurance and Metrology .
10–12 years of experience in Cylinder Head and Cylinder Block Machining , with 3–4 years in a Machining Quality role preferred.
In-depth expertise in metrology and inspection instruments, with the ability to guide teams on selecting appropriate measurement methods and ensuring accurate day-to-day execution.
Proven ability to drive continuous improvement in machining quality processes.
Six Sigma certification preferred.
