DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to join our team specializing in Manufacturing in Rocky Mount, NC.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Lead projects that align manufacturing processes with safety, product, and business goals

  • Apply advanced manufacturing principles to improve equipment efficiency and reliability

  • Drive continuous improvement using proven tools and Cummins standards

  • Develop and implement manufacturing standards and best practices across teams

  • Collaborate with internal and external resources to execute high-impact initiatives

  • Coach and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to foster alignment and growth

  • Champion technical excellence and innovation in manufacturing practices at Cummins

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals

  • Communicate clearly and adapt messaging to different audiences

  • Champion health and safety practices to foster a safe work environment

  • Interpret engineering and manufacturing drawings to support process design

  • Select appropriate equipment that meets manufacturing and project needs

  • Use digital tools to simulate and optimize manufacturing processes

  • Apply manufacturing knowledge to implement process and equipment changes

  • Document processes clearly to ensure consistency and standardization

  • Design tools and fixtures that meet functional and manufacturing requirements

  • Value diverse perspectives to enhance innovation and team performance

  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce cost and improve quality

  • Apply ergonomic principles to design safe and efficient workstations

  • Solve problems using structured, data-driven methodologies

  • Design operator workstations that balance safety, cost, quality, and efficiency

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

  • Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information:

  • Lead projects to drive line readiness for new products

  • Support during deployments for infant care support of line changes

  • Design and coordinate process and equipment changes

  • Support the team in problem solving and troubleshooting
