Job Summary
The Site Quality Engineer – Senior creates value for the assigned site by leading continuous improvement initiatives to achieve defect-free processes, ensure customer satisfaction, and deliver strong business results. This role plays a key part in establishing and maintaining robust quality systems for a new plant, ensuring compliance with internal, customer, and industry standards.
Note: As this is a new plant requirement, this position will be recruited externally as per policy.
Key Responsibilities Customer & Product Quality
Lead and manage plant-level customer quality issues, including corrective action requests and containment activities.
Ensure products and processes meet both initial and long-term quality standards, including IATF, customer-specific requirements, APQP, and PPAP documentation submission.
Serve as a quality technical resource for cross-functional teams.
Process & Change Management
Lead and/or support change management activities for current products and Value Package Introduction (VPI) by verifying products and processes against key quality metrics.
Support and/or lead Safe Launch initiatives through VPI to ensure smooth product introductions.
Analyze quality and process data to support fact-based decision-making.
Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving
Lead prioritization of continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional business partners.
Apply industry-proven methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, 7-Step Problem Solving, IQTM, and AIAG core tools.
Identify root causes, implement robust corrective actions, and ensure prevention of recurrence.
Audits, Systems & Compliance
Support and/or lead internal, external, and customer quality audits.
Ensure effective application and maintenance of quality management systems and processes.
Apply statistical tools and measurement science to evaluate process performance and drive improvements.
Leadership & Capability Building
Coach and mentor less experienced quality team members.
Develop talent by sharing best practices and strengthening quality capability across the organization.
Influence stakeholders to ensure quality priorities are integrated into business decisions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical/scientific discipline, or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated role competence in quality engineering or manufacturing environments.
May require licensing for compliance with export control or sanctions regulations.
Skills
Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), FMEA, PPAP, SPC, capability studies, and process audits
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills using structured methodologies
Knowledge of AIAG core tools and customer-specific quality requirements
Measurement science and statistical foundations for data-driven decision-making
Project management skills, including scope, schedule, and resource management
Quality Systems Management and Quality Process Management
Quality 4.0 awareness, including digital quality systems, cloud-based tools, and data connectivity
Effective communication and stakeholder influence skills
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
Intermediate-level experience required
7–8 years of intermediate-level experience preferred in Manufacturing Quality or Engineering within the automotive industry or a similarly regulated environment.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on manufacturing or quality experience required.
