Job Summary
This role applies developing business process, warehouse operations, and project management skills within the supply chain and logistics function. The position supports both internal plant warehouses and external/customer-facing warehouses , ensuring alignment of capacity, inventory, and service levels with business and customer demand. The role manages defined portions of warehouse improvement and logistics projects, provides operational and administrative support, and contributes to continuous improvement, safety, and compliance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Warehouse Operations (Internal & External)
Plan and manage overall warehouse operations, layouts, and material flow for internal plant and external/customer-facing warehouses.
Ensure warehouse capacity and capabilities are aligned with production plans, business requirements, and customer demand.
Oversee inventory management for raw materials, finished goods, consumables, and indirect items in coordination with the Buying team.
Monitor and control stock levels; oversee cycle counts, API, reconciliation, and inventory accuracy.
Manage plan fulfillment, dispatches, and deliveries from customer-facing warehouses.
Ensure on-time delivery and high service levels to external customers despite demand variability.
Optimize storage utilization and warehouse layout to improve picking, dispatch speed, and overall productivity.
Safety, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, Kaizen, Safety, Environment) to enhance warehouse safety, productivity, and cost efficiency.
Enforce health, safety, and environmental standards across all warehouses.
Maintain regulatory compliance for storage and handling of hazardous or controlled materials.
People & Resource Management
Lead, coach, and develop warehouse teams, including Cummins employees, 3PL partners, supervisors, and indirect procurement staff.
Plan manpower requirements, shift schedules, and performance management activities.
Secure and deploy resources effectively to meet operational and project objectives.
Project & Process Management
Serve as a resource on warehouse, logistics, and supply chain improvement projects.
Apply basic project management knowledge to manage defined project scope, schedule, resources, and risks.
Identify, track, and resolve project issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Monitor and communicate project status, timelines, and deliverables to stakeholders and project managers.
Assist with budget planning, cost tracking, research, and analytical support.
Document project learnings and share best practices across teams.
Maintain project documentation, notes, databases, and performance measures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Qualifications
Demonstrated role competence in warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain management.
Bachelor’s degree from a college or university in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred.
This position may require licensing or authorization for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
Minimal level of relevant work experience required in warehouse operations, logistics, supply chain, or project coordination.
Experience working with internal and external warehouses, 3PL partners, or customer-facing operations is an advantage.
