Job Summary:
Completes repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under supervision
We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our Distribution business in (Mesa, AZ).

- Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
- Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
- Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
- Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
- Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
- Maintain own tools

Under direct or close supervision, assist with general workshop and maintenance activities, including upfits and rebuilds, while completing on-the-job training and Cummins-based training in a service workshop. Follow established procedures and guidelines to develop knowledge and skills in the service workshop.
Must have relevant technical training and experience.
Basic knowledge of engine and chassis systems.

- A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
- Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
- This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Minimal level of work shop experience required
Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics
- Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality
- Demonstrates an understanding on access to engine repair process information sources.
- Understands after-treatment system and can identify major components and their function at a rudimentary level.
- Has worked on external components on a diesel engine and understands the basic concepts.
- Has some knowledge of engine diagnostic software
