DESCRIPTION
Completes preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on engines and related components at the customer site with minimal direction.
We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our Distribution business in (Elko, NV).

Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
Maintain own tools
RESPONSIBILITIES
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics
Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality
Demonstrates an understanding on access to engine repair process information sources.
Understands after-treatment system and can identify major components and their function at a rudimentary level.
Has worked on external components on a diesel engine and understands the basic concepts.
Has some knowledge of engine diagnostic software
QUALIFICATIONS
Active daily participation in safety processes
Thorough documentation of repairs including recording unit information and detailed repair/troubleshooting steps as necessary
Working nonstandard shifts occasionally in support of business needs(nights/weekends)
Timely submission of service documentation.
Working rotating shift schedules in support of mining customer
Frequent communication with customers and supervisors when working remotely
Independent management/reconciliation of compony issues credit cards
Proactive scheduling of PTO/time off
Flexibility in short notice scheduling changes including out-of-down assignments
Attention to clean work habits at the end of shift and throughout the shift
Complying with federal DOT laws while operating company vehicles - including ELD devices
Professionally communicating/representing Cummins to the customer
Complying with management directives as needed in support of business operations.
DOT
A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
A current valid license is required for this role
This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
3 years driving experience
This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
-Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred).
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution.
Locally valid driving permit.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Minimal level of workshop related experience required.
Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.
Locally valid driving permit.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
