1. Shadowing & Mini-Projects: Rotate through supply-chain sub-teams (planning, purchasing, logistics) to shadow day-to-day operations and then lead a small, time-boxed improvement project such as re-slotting slow-moving SKUs or updating safety-stock parameters
Data Clean-up & Visualization: Audit ERP/MRP data integrity for a specific product family, build a Power BI dashboard that flags late purchase orders, and present findings to the planning team
Cycle-Count Support: Plan and execute a wall-to-wall cycle count in one warehouse aisle, reconcile variances, and propose root-cause corrective actions under the guidance of a senior planner
2-4 Skill Experience Requirements for a Material Planner Intern
1.Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups), familiarity with any ERP or MRP system is a plus
2.Analytical Ability: Demonstrated coursework or projects involving data analysis, forecasting, or inventory modeling
3.Communication: Clear written and verbal skills to interact with suppliers, warehouse staff, and internal stakeholders
