DESCRIPTION
This role is responsible for leading the planning, design, procurement, and implementation of manufacturing equipment and system improvements. The position drives manufacturing excellence by applying advanced engineering principles, leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring alignment with safety, quality, cost, and delivery objectives. The role also plays a key part in influencing stakeholders, driving continuous improvement, and delivering robust manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end execution of manufacturing engineering projects, including process design, equipment selection, installation, and commissioning.
Develop and implement manufacturing processes that meet safety, quality, business, and product performance requirements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using established methodologies to enhance productivity, reduce cost, and improve quality.
Lead capital expenditure (CAPEX) planning, equipment procurement, and vendor coordination for new machining lines and manufacturing systems.
Apply manufacturing engineering principles to optimize equipment performance, process capability, and operational efficiency.
Develop and standardize manufacturing processes, work instructions, and best practices aligned with Cummins standards.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, business leaders, and cross-functional teams, to deliver project objectives.
Influence technical decisions and provide engineering guidance across projects and teams.
Ensure proper documentation of processes, specifications, and changes to maintain consistency and compliance.
Lead problem-solving initiatives to identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions.
Design and improve workstation layouts and ergonomics to enhance safety, efficiency, and operator productivity.
Coach and mentor team members and stakeholders to build technical capability and drive performance improvements.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related STEM field is required
Additional certifications or advanced qualifications in manufacturing, project management, or related domains are advantageous
Compliance with export control or regulatory licensing requirements may be necessary

Experience
Intermediate to advanced experience in manufacturing engineering or a related domain
Proven experience leading manufacturing projects, including equipment installation and process implementation
Experience with new machining line setup, equipment ordering, installation, and commissioning
Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and solve complex manufacturing challenges
Experience working with cross-functional and global teams is preferred
