We are looking for a talented Supplier Quality Engineer – Senior (Temporal 12 months) to join our team specializing in QUALITY for CUMMINS in San Luis Potosí, SLP. (100% On site role)
Supplier Quality is the area responsible for monitoring quality rejections reported by the assembly line. We interact with various stakeholders, both corporate and plant-level, including the supplier. This enables us to provide a timely response to our internal customer (production and functional engineering teams) and even our external customers. The role is key in serving as the interface that ensures corrective action communication flows accurately and on time.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Provide on-site support at the assembly line when quality issues are related to suppliers, specifically for the Engine Plant.
Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) including Supplier Quality Reports, Corrective Actions, and Quarantine Costs.
Drive strong vendor follow-up to ensure timely completion of corrective actions for quality issues reported by customers or the assembly line.
Manage and resolve supplier complaints, implementing measures to reduce quarantine costs.
Ensure effective communication with vendors and internal stakeholders at multiple organizational levels to address and resolve quality concerns.
Oversee and ensure that technical personnel execute material release to the assembly line on time.
Act as an issue-resolution facilitator, supporting the business in achieving established goals and metrics.
Enable fast resolution of material disposition in the quarantine area to minimize production impact.
Promote and support talent development within the team, fostering technical growth and accountability.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanics, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or related
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer or Quality Engineer with supplier relationships within the automotive industry.
Experience in Core Tools (PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, APQP, PPAP)
Background in supplier audits (system, process, product).
Advanced English (written, spoken, and reading) to effectively participate in meetings with stakeholders from India, China, USA, England, Canada, and Brazil.
Strong Problem Solving (7-steps, FTAs) Preferred (Desirable):
Experience in drawings interpretation (GD&T )
Engine Components knowledge.
International Standars: ASTM, ISO
Supplier Handbook
Material Science.
