We are looking for a talented Engine Field Service Technician - Level III to join our team specializing in Service for our Service Operations Department in Accra, Ghana.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Deliver high‑quality diagnostics, repairs, overhauls, and rebuilds across multiple engine products with minimal supervision, ensuring reliable outcomes for customers.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships by providing prompt, efficient, and professional service that consistently meets customer needs.
- Apply specialized tools, documented procedures, and company policies to accurately diagnose and resolve complex technical issues at customer sites.
- Perform preventative maintenance in line with established schedules and standards to improve engine performance, reliability, and longevity.
- Escalate unresolved or complex issues appropriately to product specialists or leadership to ensure timely and effective resolution.
- Coach, guide, and share technical knowledge with technicians and apprentices, supporting skill development and high service standards.
- Identify additional service or sales opportunities during customer interactions, contributing to business growth and customer value.
- Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental policies while maintaining accurate documentation, well‑kept tools, and a safe, professional work environment.

A customer-focused individual contributor who demonstrates proficiency in completing complex diagnostics, repairs, overhauls, and rebuilds on multiple engine products at the company's site with minimal supervision. They may provide some technical guidance to less experienced technicians.
Education/ Experience:
- Apprentice‑trained Engine Technician qualification (preferred).
- Technician level 1, 2 or 3, Engineering Degree or Diploma.
- Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution.
- Locally valid driving permit.
- Significant hands‑on experience in heavy‑duty field service operations, preferably within mining, power generation, or industrial environments.
- Proven ability to work autonomously in remote, cross‑border, or high‑pressure operational settings while maintaining Cummins safety, quality, and service standards.
- Strong communication skills to clearly explain complex technical issues and solutions to customers, dealer personnel, and internal Cummins stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate in French to support technical discussions in francophone markets (advantageous but not mandatory).
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Advanced technical expertise to independently diagnose, escalate, and resolve complex, high‑risk engine issues across borders, including in remote or time‑critical environments.
- Strong technical leadership capability to mentor and guide technicians, enforce technical and safety standards, and drive consistent, high‑quality repairs across customer and dealer sites.
- Confidence and professionalism to act as the technical authority during critical customer engagements, including major breakdowns, commissioning, warranty discussions, and OEM coordination.
- Proven ability to repair and maintain mechanical and electrical systems by following documented guidelines, using specialized tools efficiently, minimizing cost of ownership, and restoring equipment to pre‑failure condition.
